Laureen Laglagaron is an award-winning civil rights attorney and writer. Inspired by her family’s experience immigrating to Canada and the United States, her stories explore the lives of Filipino migrants and the families they leave behind.
Laglagaron attended Swarthmore College and obtained her law degree from UCLA School of Law. She has over two decades of experience in immigration and civil rights law. Her writing has received support from Hedgebrook, Napa Valley Writers’ Conference, and Sonoma County Writers Camp. She attended the Tin House Summer Workshop (2022) and was a writer-in-residence at the Writer’s Colony at Dairy Hollow (2022).
